The BIG event held at the University of Missouri-Columbia, organized by the MU Institute for Clinical and Translational Science, MU Biodesign and Innovation Program, MU Coulter Translational Partnership Program, MU Office of Technology Management and Industry Relations, & Mizzou Advantage, was a ‘pinch me’ presentation!
Dr. Lilianna Solnica-Krezel’s presentation, “Regenerative Medicine: Opportunities for Biomedical Innovation”
was so exciting, as she described the remarkable research in Regenerative Medicine happening at Washington University! Such a plesure to work with Dr. Jerry Parker & his staff! Bonus to meet Dr. Angela Bowman, Executive Director of the Washington University Center for Regenerative Medicine.
Hope MU does this again:-)

Can’t wait to hear Dr. Whaley-Connell talk more about the amazing things the VA researchers are doing (especially with the nuclear reactor) next Tuesday morning! See you then!

Unlike many clubs that recruit new members from ‘young-uns’, Hannibal’s Evening Kiwanis welcomed their newest member, at age 82!

I suppose my enjoyment of Hannibal & its history is also influenced by another Margaret, who came from Hannibal, Margaret Tobin, the “Unsinkable” Molly Brown. Why was I not surprised to learn of another famous son of Hannibal, William Lear, the designer of the Lear jet!
Great people, great things continue to happen in Hannibal!
KCALSI Annual Dinner 2014 was the place to be on Sept. 9!

Was it because of this year’s location at the Midland Theater? Was it because this year’s program was over the top? Surely it was a combination of both – BRAVO Kansas City Area Life Sciences Institute!
This year’s program included an exciting Silent Auction, with images curated by Sarah Hearn and Erin Olm-Shipman of the Collectors Fund. Proceeds from the silent auction will support STEAM education, an integration of Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and Art.
It was great to work with such a talented group in such a legendary location!
